Sale of the picture for many years hanging in the house of the Swedish pensioner, brought it more than one million dollars

At auction in the city of Uppsala (Sweden) Ayvazovsky's picture "Fight for Bomarzund", written by the artist in 1858 which casually found among old things was sold. The owner of a picture also didn't guess value of the cloth for many years decorating an interior of his house.

The real price of a picture was established, when her owner, the Swedish pensioner, wanted to get rid of things unnecessary it and offered them for sale in the local auction house "Metropol". Among various subjects there was a picture which remained to it from the late wife.

The cloth was exposed on auction at starting cost by about one and a half thousand dollars. But the prize caused a huge agiotage, and the auction was suspended. Auctioneers of "Metropol" showed a canvas to experts of other auction house which is engaged in sales of pictures of Russian artists. Experts established that the picture belongs to Ivan Ayvazovsky's brush.

Picture again exposed on auction, and it was bought by the Russian collector which name isn't called, for the sum equivalent to 1, 2 million dollars.
