COLLAGE

  - (Fr. collage - glue, sticker) - common in the art of the 20th century. techniques of painting, graphic work, which consists in the use of different labels, from flat (fragments of newspaper, wallpaper, color paper, decorative materials, fabrics) or volume (pieces of wire, wood, rope, metal) materials. COLLAGE has been introduced by Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque, who in 1912 used it regularly. COLLAGE - a characteristic of synthetic cubism painting. This technique is also applied futurists (Carlo Carra, Gino Severini), Dadaists (Kurt Schwitters, Hans Arp), Russian avant-garde artists (AV Lentulov, Pyotr Konchalovsky, O. V. Rozanov). In the future, expanding the scope K., merging with such forms as Environnement, assamblazh, accumulation.
