VERNISSAGE

VERNISSAGE (Fr. vernissage, letters. - Varnishing) - grand opening of the exhibition, which involved a specially invited persons. The speeches of artists, critics, members of the public and related to the art institutions are usually set out the initial assessment and plan of the authors of the exhibition. Title VI is derived from the once prevalent custom of the French artists cover a picture painted on the eve of the opening exhibition of the Salon in the presence of invitees.
