Having peeped at the young maiden bathing in a garden, two judges-elders began to decline her to a coition, threatening to accuse in case of refusal of adultery and to execute. Susanna rejected their harassments and was in a false manner accused. Execution which fell apart at the last minute had to take place: the prophet Daniil interrogated aged men and caught them in a lie.
In a picture the naked girl who scaredly stiffened is represented, having felt others bad presence. Susanna here – absolutely [
young, almost the child. She costs, having bent, trying to cover nakedness with sheets, and is disturbing looks forward, at the viewer: obviously, there is one of the aged men who took her unawares. The head of the second is seen in thickets on a background.
