It is vertical format painting. Eugene-Alexis Girardet painted man who is sitting near the court office. He came to this sad place on his donkey. The man is poor, and most likely, he would be blamed for some minor crime. The artwork “In The Courtyard” is perfect and ideal for Orient interior style of home decoration. I like the color of the work and its composition. It is quite realistic, expresses sadness and hopefulness of the poor and strained man. Eugene-Alexis Girardet made an expressive artwork. [Expand]
