It is horizontal format painting. Edwin Lord Weeks depicted caravan that is preparing for long and (I would suggest) dangerous trip. Some camels with camel-men are taking opportunity to have a rest at the last minute before departure. The other people are checking their numerous sacks with valuable goods. The artwork is perfect for Orient interior style of home decoration. Very nice work of Edwin Lord Weeks – natural and well-balanced composition.
