I am working with 3rd grerads so some of the poems I chose may be a bit above your 5 year old's level [but I could be wrong ]. The tiger poem is especially difficult. I think, though, that looking at art while listening to poetry would appeal to a 5 year old. I would find out what poems your child is reading at school and try to match paintings to some of those.
