Little trumpeter Charles Joseph Frederick Sulakrua ( of Charles Joseph Frederick Soulacroix, 6 July 18 25, Montpellier - May 9, 1879, Florence) - French artist, who has worked most of his life in Italy. - He was born in Montpellier in 1825.
- In 1845 he entered the Paris School of Fine Arts (Ecole des Beaux-Arts) in a class of sculpture and painting. He studied with artists Ramy, Cornelius, Dumont.
- In 1848 he received a medal for his sculptural work.
- In 1849 he exhibited his paintings in the Paris Salon.
- In October 1850 he won the Grand Concours at the School of Fine Arts and went to Rome.July 18, 1852 Sulacroix married in Rome at the Giacinta Diofebo. In 1856, his daughter Marie de Ange was born, and on October 1, 1858, he was succeeded by his son Frederic.
- From 1853 to 1863 the artist worked in Rome, Parma, Pisa, Livorno and Florence.
- In 1863-1865 he painted in Boulogne-sur-Mer a cathedral on sketches approved by Pope Pius IX, and earned eye disease from marble dust.
- In 1870 he returned to Italy, to Florence.
