DEEP SEAL Gravure printing - one of the three major types of printing, printing reproduction of text and illustrations, in which the printing forms or boards have different depths, the paint fills these depressions, which allows to vary the shades of colors to create subtle transitions from light to shadow. There are mechanical methods of making molds GP (premaxillary engraving, drypoint, mezzotint), chemical (etching and other types of engraving with etching) and mixed (pencil style, dash style). See also the engraving depth, heliogravire.
