A slightly sketchy work depicting an unpretentious plot – the wife brought lunch to the shepherd, but the picture is saturated with incredible tenderness, warmth, caring. And this seemingly frozen nature, and the sun hidden behind the haze, and the windless weather - all echo the silent love of them and this moment of lunch.
