The canvas captured the daily rural scene of milking a cow. But it is written in such a way that it causes associations with classical biblical scenes of the Renaissance. For example, the clouds are dark and light, with strong contrast, as if they delimit two worlds - the saints and demons. The figures of the characters are frozen in monumental poses, they are static, as if they are posing for the artist.
