It is horizontal format painting. Addison Thomas Millar depicted a merchant who is selling carpets. Two women stand in front of him. It seems they are looking at the carpets and are ready to make a difficult choice. As usual, they will be bargaining. But the rug merchant looks like greedy man and hard bargainer. The artwork is perfect and ideal for Orient interior style of home decoration. The painting is quite realistic with a lot of details. I like this painting for tranquil mood and warm lighting.
