It is horizontal format painting. Edmond Comte de Grimberghe depicted young woman who are beautifully and freely lying in the room, behind the bars. She is resting and apparently is posing for her portrait. The woman is half-naked and it seems she is enjoyed by her nicely-shaped body. The artwork is perfect for Orient interior style of home decoration. The painting “The Odalisque” is lively and sympathetic. The mood is tranquil and relaxed as the woman herself.
