It is horizontal format painting. George Frederick Watts painted woman whose family is falling down to the poverty. Her room is empty and woman herself is hopelessly lying on the bed. She is very close to start crying or has already cried. Two men – the one with wing is going to leave the room and the other – old and disgusting is knocking the door.
