The artwork of Jean-Leon Gerome is vertical format painting. It is best suited for Arabian interior style of home decoration. I do not like the artwork of Jean-Leon Gerome who painted a Bashi-Bazouk and his dog. The painting is pale and muted.

the dog is simply incredible: long legs, smart eyes, noble posture!
