A canvas depicting two women who read the letter together. The abundance of silk shine in clothes and interior could make the composition too sugary, but the author successfully minimized the number of elements and colors, so the picture is perceived as harmonious and unsaturated. Also, the very scene of reading the letter leaves a pleasant impression - the heroines do it joyfully, with pleasure, probably, a message from somebody dear to both of them to whom they are dear too.
