It's not exactly a traditional winter scene. The gray sky is partially illuminated, perhaps by the moon, its multi-colored fragments create some intrigue, a feeling of anxiety. The tree in the foreground has preserved the remnants of the leaves, or the red berries, which seem to adorn and enliven usually the dull image. In any case, the image of a winter evening always gives the impression of comfort and a fairy tale, and white snow gives the landscape purity, accuracy and illuminates it.
